LASER DENTISTRY

Laser dentistry involves using the latest technology in various fields of dental practice and treatment. Although contributes vastly to the accuracy of treatment and significantly reduces pain and recovery period, this technology is still being located on the doorstep of dentistry. The statistics indicate that only 5% of dental offices are equipped with lasers. Laser dentistry is a new technique that increases the precision of treatment and greatly reduces pain and recovery time.

WHY LASER DENTISTRY?

For some, laser dentistry is a precise and efficient way of performing dental procedures. Dentists who prefer exceptional safety and comfort in the work can opt for this option.

The potential that this technology has perfected the field of dental treatment is the result of precision laser control that the dentist has over the camera while shaking hands with him and reduced time of exposure to the patient.

The biggest benefits of laser dentistry are:

In procedures performed with laser usually not required final stitching on the site being treated. For certain interventions performed by laser does not require application of anesthesia. With laser reduces bleeding, because the beam facilitates blood clotting and thus comes to less blood loss. The danger of bacterial infections is also reduced because the beam sterilized place being treated. Damage to surrounding tissue leads to a minimum. Operative wounds heal faster and tissues can regenerate

BENEFITS FROM LASER DENTISTRY

Laser dentistry opens up opportunities to perform surgeries that without this technology would not be possible. The laser is introduced in use in the following procedures:

Benign tumors: Laser technology can be used for painless removal (removal without incision and sewing) of benign tumors from the gums above the teeth, gums, inside of the cheeks and lips. Caries detection: lasers with lower intensity used for the treatment of soft tissue can read generated byproducts and thus be used for early detection of caries. View the tissues of the teeth and gums, it is a safer way to view the inside of the teeth and gums. Herpes: dental lasers with low intensity decrease pain and reduce recovery period. Crown Lengthening: Lasers can shape the gum tissue and bone to reveal much of the healthy tooth structure. This procedure is called elongation of the crown and aims to create a stronger basis for the restoration of the tooth. Frenulum: frenectomy laser is an ideal treatment option for frenulumot children (whose tongue is attached) and infants can not suck because of limited ability to move the tongue. Frenectomy laser also helps in solving some speech problems. Tumors of the gums (epulis): gingival tumors usually arise as a result of poorly placed dentures. In these cases, the laser is used for painless removal of soft tissue from the tumor and does not need stitches. Teeth Whitening: low intensity lasers used for the treatment of soft tissue are also used for the process of teeth whitening. Lowered gums, dental lasers are used for pulling the gums above the teeth, whereby healthy tooth structure is emphasized and beautifying the smile of the patient.

Dental lasers are not suitable for use in working with amalgam fillings, crowns or cement.
